From April 7 to 21, Bishop Alberto Rojas joined Sister Leticia Salazar, fellow Sisters of the Company of Mary, Our Lady, along with parents, grandparents of students at St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School, Temecula, and other Catholic faithful from the Diocese on a special pilgrimage celebrating the 75th anniversary of the canonization of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac. (LEFT TO RIGHT) They began their journey in Rome, Italy, where they met Mother General of the Sisters of the Company of Mary, Sister Rita Calvo Sanz, after Bishop Rojas celebrated Mass in their chapel. The pilgrims also went to the chapel at one of the sister schools of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School, Temecula, Col-legi Lestonnac in Barcelona, Spain. The diocesan pilgrims stopped in Lourdes, France, where they participated in a rain-soaked candle procession to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Lastly, the pilgrims visited Bordeaux, France, where they retraced the steps of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac in the city of her birth and death. They celebrated Mass at her tomb (pictured far right) and later visited the ruins of the house she shared with her husband.
