In the Diocese of San Bernardino, Fr. Matanic served at St. Andrew Newman Center in Riverside.
He is survived by his brother-in-law Steve Dendas and his nephews Andrew and Michael and niece Angela.
Vigil service was on July 23 at St. Albert’s Priory in Oakland and the funeral Mass was at St. Vincent Ferrerr in Vallejo. Fr. Matanic was interned at St. Dominic’s Cemetery in Benicia.
