Deacon Scott Hunsicker was returned to God on Sept. 6 at the age of 69 after battling esophageal cancer for the past few years. Deacon Hunsicker was born on Dec. 27, 1952, in Pasadena and married his wife Elizabeth (Liz) on Oct. 9, 1976.
Deacon Hunsicker was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on June 12, 1999, and assigned to Holy Family Parish, Hesperia. He and his wife served as Diaconate Council representatives for the High Desert Vicariate from 2004-2007. He worked in diocesan ministry as a Canonical Judge for the Office of Canonical Services from 2003-2014.
A Mass of Resurrection for Deacon Hunsicker was held Oct. 5 at St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Alta Loma. We pray for Deacon Hunsicker’s eternal rest and for God’s consolation of his family.
