Father Robert “Bob” Nogosek, C.S.C., passed away on July 16. Fr. Nogosek was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 2, 1930 to faithful Catholic parents. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Navy for a few years before hearing the call to become a Holy Cross priest. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1956 and began his ministry as a theology professor, retreat master, writer and pastor.
Fr. Nogosek came to the Diocese of San Bernardino in 1986, where he served as an assistant to the Valley Missionary Program and then as Pastor of Our Lady of Soldedad Parish, both in Coachella. He then became the Director of the Diocese’s Diaconate Formation Office, where he served from 1999 to 2006.
