He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Most Rev. Phillip F. Straling on Sept. 15, 1990 and was assigned to St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Desert Hot Springs where he served for 21 years until he was granted the status of Retired Deacon in 2011.
In July 2009, the Campbell's were awarded the Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice Cross, which is awarded to individuals who rise to a level that merits recognition by the Universal Church.
Funeral Mass was held on Feb. 15 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Desert Hot Springs.
