Aquinas High School student receives Girl Scouts Gold Award, recognition from Pope Leo XIV

Aquinas High School student Simone Anna Bacon has received the Gold Award, which the highest award in  Girl Scouting. It came with a special recognition from Pope Leo XIV. Simone was awarded these prestigious honors after creating “The Art of Prayer,” a coloring book created for children who are receiving their First Holy Communion. It is divided into chapters based on the lessons they are following as they prepare for their sacrament. Each chapter has an original drawing, a Bible verse, and a prayer, encouraging creativity and accessible learning for all. There is also a page for personal reflection. Additionally, she donated books to the third graders at Sacred Heart Academy in Redlands. Simone also created a social media account so educators can access the pages of the book for free.
