Xavier College Preparatory students participate in East Los Angeles immersion trip

During the first week of September, a group of 10 students from Xavier College Preparatory School in Palm Desert traveled to East Los Angeles to participate in the East Los Angeles immersion trip, an opportunity to volunteer in the community and live out Catholic Social Teaching. For their volunteer efforts, the students rolled-up their sleeves, put on hairnets and gloves then formed an assembly line to make plates of food. In addition to volunteering, the group of students took time to visit the historic La Placita on Olvera Street near Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral.
