RANCHO CUCAMONGA—From the Low Desert to the West End, from Hemet to the High Desert, traveling through Riverside and San Bernardino maybe no Solemnity touches more of the Diocesan parishes and religious communities than the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. 

  The celebration this year, on June 8, may have been felt strongest in the parish community of Sacred Heart, Rancho Cucamonga.

olh_reunionSAN BERNARDINO—Parishioners of the former St. Anne parish in San Bernardino are gearing up for a Summer reunion that will allow them to reconnect and share memories about this Catholic community that was founded in 1945.

 The idea came about after Our Lady of Hope Pastor, Father Manuel Cardoza, called for a concerted effort to reach out to longtime parishioners of the three communities that were merged to form Our Lady of Hope in 2006. Those communities are the former St. Anne Parish, Christ the King Parish and Our Lady of Fatima Parish.

Blessed Oscar Romero StatueEASTVALE—The Catholic Community of Blessed Oscar Romero in Eastvale celebrated the unveiling of a new statue of their patron on March 18. 

 A family visiting from El Salvador during the 10:30 am Mass assisted Father Patrick Kirsch, Pastor, in unveiling the statue of Blessed Oscar Romero, a martyr who spent his life advocating for the poor and speaking out against social injustices in El Salvador until his assassination on March 24, 1980. He was beatified on May 23, 2015 by Pope Francis.
