In October, two parishes in the Diocese hosted candidate forums coordinated by Inland Congregations United for Change (ICUC), a local faith-based nonprofit community organization.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mecca hosted two forums, one for Coachella Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees candidates and one for Desert Recreation District Board candidates, while Our Lady of Hope in San Bernardino hosted a forum for San Bernardino City Unified School Board candidates.
By hosting these forums, the two parishes are answering the call to Faithful Citizenship, getting involved in public policy advocacy on issues that impact their communities.
