The parish ministry, which also includes a thrift store, serves about 4,200 people each month in the greater Murrieta, French Valley and Winchester areas. In addition to distributions at the pantry, volunteers deliver food to 25 home bound elderly and distribute food to about 30 homeless every week. The pantry is run by about 150 volunteers who last year donated 26,792 hours. 95% of the volunteers are parishioners of St. Martha Parish.
“We were chosen from among 600 pantries so this is quite an honor,” said Maria Bhanukitsiri, manager of the pantry.
