Despite a valiant two year battle led by the Concerned Citizens of the High Desert and Churches of many faiths, Planned Parenthood recently opened what it calls a “Victorville Health Center.” The 10,000 square foot clinic is intended to bring in 20,000 clients per year and targets youth and those going through economic hardships in particular. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States, operating several abortion centers throughout the Inland Empire.
Beginning at 12 noon the community will march before the Planned Parenthood facility, at 15403 Park Avenue East, just off the Palmdale Road exit of Interstate 15. At 1 pm the gathering will be addressed by speakers including former Mayor Ryan McEachron, who in the spring of 2012 filed an appeal of the Victorville Planning Commission’s approval of the conditional use permit for the Planned Parenthood facility, based on public safety and economic concerns. City Councilwoman Angela Valles is also scheduled to attend.
Planned Parenthood spends several million dollars annually lobbying its special interests, recently sponsoring AB 154 and AB 980, which passed the California legislature and were signed by Governor Brown. The Diocese of San Bernardino, in collaboration with the California Catholic Conference, vigorously advocated against these bills which will allow abortions to be performed by non-physicians and lower building standards in facilities that provide abortions. Planned Parenthood will profit substantially at the expense of women’s health and safety.
All are encouraged and welcome to join the March for Life Victorville 2014. For more information contact Lisa Hays @ 760.486.2729 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
