LAS VEGAS—Three from our Diocese were honored at the National Catholic Association of Diocesan Directors for Hispanic Ministry (NCADDHM) Conference, which took place Nov. 1-4 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Petra Alexander, Director of the Office of Hispanic Affairs, was one of ten National Honorees. She was honored in the category of Hispanic Ministry and Spiritual Formation Leadership.
Additionally, Dr. Jose Antonio Medina, Coordinator of the Ministry of Continuing Formation of Priests, and Edgardo Juarez, Director of the Office of Ministry With Young Catholics, were named Regional Honorees for Region 11, which covers the states of California, Nevada and Hawaii.
“To be recognized by an association that is so beloved by me, as is NCADDHM, causes me to look around, because I honestly do not feel like the award belongs to me. It belongs to the Hispanic community of this Diocese; it is for so many ministers who put their time, talent and work into serving God. This award is for my bishops, who believed in our work and who have given us so many examples. I am grateful to our migrants whose spirituality grows and develops when it is watered even a little,” said Alexander.
We congratulate the awardees and thank them for their important ministry with the Hispanic community in our Diocese.
