More than three dozen School Sisters of St. Francis of the United States Province will celebrate milestone anniversaries of service as women religious in 2022. Among those being honored is Sister Paulea Kraft, whose 75 years of consecrated life include ministry in the Diocese of San Bernardino.
Sister Paulea was born in Chicago, Illinois. She received a bachelor’s in Education from Alverno College.

In the Diocese of San Bernardino, Sister Paulea served as a teacher at St. Frances of Rome School, Lake Elsinore (1973-1976) and St. James School, Perris (1976-1986). She served at St. Anthony, San Jacinto as RCIA director (1986-1983). In Hemet, she was a pastoral facilitator at Our Lady of the Valley (1993-2002); Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) coordinator (2002-2014) and bereavement minister (2014-2016) at Holy Spirit; and a hospice volunteer (2016-2020).

In addition to her ministry in the Diocese of San Bernardino, Sister Paulea served as a teacher at various schools in the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois; the Archdiocese of Chicago; and the Archdiocese of Omaha. She currently serves in the ministry of prayer and presence at Sacred Heart, Milwaukee.

A Mass to honor Sister Paulea and all the other Jubilarians of her congregation will be held June 11 at Alverno College in Milwaukee.
