On Sunday, October 30 Bishop Barnes will preside at the Eucharistic Celebration to mark the 2016 Diocesan White Mass at Christ the Redeemer Church, Grand Terrace. The Mass begins at 3 p.m., followed by an Awards Dinner at 5 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

The Diocese will recognize with special awards those healthcare professionals who had been nominated and selected by an Awards Committee for their services to humanity within and outside the Diocese of San Bernardino. These people have gone above and beyond, distinguishing themselves in practice and adhering to Catholic moral values and beliefs:

St. Luke Award—presented to any doctor/physician who has distinguished himself/herself professionally in a way that reflects the Catholic values and moral ethics.

Florence Nightingale Award – presented to any licensed nurse who has distinguished himself/herself in the field of nursing in a way that reflects Catholic values and moral ethics.

Bishop Award – presented to any healthcare provider, other than a physician or nurse, who has distinguished himself/herself by providing healthcare services in a manner that promotes the mission of the Diocese, “so that people’s lives are filled with hope.”

St. Teresa of Calcutta Award – presented to an individual who is not a medical professional, but has supported health projects and programs, or provided ancillary services in the healthcare system, fulfilling the mission of the Diocese, “so that people’s lives are filled with hope.”

There are sponsorship opportunities available for businesses and individuals to contribute to this celebration for the medical community: Title sponsor; Award sponsor; Food Sponsor; Decorations/Pins Sponsor; and Program/Mailing Sponsor.
