 As the younger generations of Asian and Pacific Island Catholics find themselves maneuvering through a sea of expectations regarding the faith, a combination of dialogue, support, and understanding from all sides may provide Asian and Pacific communities with the tools for responding to these concerns.

Bishop Francis Adesina returns to the Diocese he visited yearly as a priest from Nigeria.

SAN BERNARDINO—Beginning in 1999 Father Francis Obafemi Adesina visited the Diocese of San Bernardino annually as a Nigerian priest to enrich his experience in parish ministry and, he says, to expand his cultural vision.

 He returned to the Diocese again in October but under a much different pretense.

SAN JACINTO—More than 130 Catholics of all ages gathered on the Soboba Indian Reservation Oct. 5 to reflect on their call to environmental stewardship.

New seminarians Martell, Sanchez and Garcia begin their journey to the priesthood

 On September 14 three men made their commitment as new diocesan seminarians official during a Mass at Christ the Redeemer Church in Grand Terrace. 

 The new seminarians entering St. Junipero Serra House of Formation are Nicholas Martell, Andy Sanchez and Oliver Garcia Tirado. 

 Mario and Paola Martinez, co-directors of the new Diocesan Office of Marriage and Family Life had the honor of taking part in a presentation of the National V Encuentro to Church leaders in Rome last month. Following is their reflection of the trip and their meeting with Pope Francis.

 The Diocese will honor those who work in the healthcare professions at its annual White Mass on Sunday, October 13 at 3 p.m. at Christ the Redeemer Church in Grand Terrace.

 The White Mass also serves as an occasion to honor those who provide health and spiritual care within these professions through a series of awards. This year’s honorees are:
