 It has been almost a decade of intense studying, deep reflection and discernment for four men who have remained focused on one mission—to become a priest in the Diocese of San Bernardino.

 On May 20, Bishop Gerald Barnes will ordain Fidel Rivero, Alwyn Anfone, Juan Sandoval and Alex Rodarte.

 In part one of this article, we introduce two of these seminarians, who have left behind long and prosperous careers to pursue a higher calling.

MODESTO—A group of eight grassroots community activists and Catholic leaders from the Diocese of San Bernardino were among the more than 900 people who gathered in Modesto Feb. 16-19 for the World Meeting of Popular Movements, an international event coordinated by the Vatican to explore a variety of social issues.

SAN BERNARDINO—Beginning this May, the Ministry Formation Institute (MFI) will be offering a new program, “Introduction to CMFP,” to help better prepare parish ministers for the intellectual and spiritual demands of advanced ministry formation.
