MONTCLAIR—Every day after school Our Lady of Lourdes eighth grader Nicola Martinez looked out toward the intersection of Orchard Street and Central Avenue in Montclair and she began to notice something that worried her.
RIVERSIDE—The Notre Dame High School Boys Basketball team has had an all-time great season, capturing its first ever CIF Title and advancing all the way to the state title game.
SAN BERNARDINO—Even after a strong showing that included a first place finish in the Logic Quiz, Our Lady of the Assumption students couldn’t imagine winning the entire Junior High Academic Decathlon.
SAN BERNARDINO—It was the perfect ending to a near perfect season. Aquinas Boys Soccer (28-3) won the Division 7 CIF title exactly 20 years, to the day, after the Falcons last won a CIF title in that sport.
SAN BERNARDINO—The Diocesan Office of Restorative Justice, in collaboration with Catholics Against the Death Penalty (CADP), has launched a campaign to lobby Governor Jerry Brown to commute the sentences of those on death row to life in prison without the possibility of parole. While, constitutionally, the Governor cannot commute the entire death row, he can commute the sentences of some who are there.
