At the Vitaly Scherbo Invitational held at the Las Vegas Centennial Hills Community Center, Braylon competed against 20 other gymnasts his age from California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Georgia. He received a medal in five of the seven events in which he competed. This included scores of 9.7 in the vault, 9.7 in the rings, and 9.5 in both floor exercise and pommel horse.
Braylon started recreational gymnastics when he was two years old at Southern California Elite Gymnastics Academy (SCEGA) in Temecula. At 4, he was recommended for a program called “Mini Men,” which is an invitational program for individuals that advance through the curriculum at a faster pace. He started competing as a Level 4 gymnast at 6 years old.
St. James Catholic School is very proud of Braylon and is enjoying celebrating with him his success.
