On March 6 and 13, Knott’s Berry Farm theme park hosted its annual Physics Day, inviting high school and junior high students to participate in a day of specially-designed physics educational activities and a build-your-own-coaster competition. Representing the Diocese of San Bernardino, the eighth grade class at Sacred Heart Academy in Redlands finished in third place for the “Most Exciting Coaster to Ride.” Students used the laws of physics to create several working roller coaster models, including loops, drops, twists and turns. The students were awarded trophies by the park’s mascot, Snoopy the dog.
