St. Francis of Assisi Church in La Quinta honored the past and embraced the future on Oct. 4, the feast day of the parish’s patron saint, celebrating its 50th anniversary with a Solemn Mass, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony for its long awaited parish expansion project. In 2016, the parish officially launched a multi-year capital campaign to build a new 24,000 square foot facility south of the existing church. This addition will house new meeting rooms, a large parish hall, a commercial kitchen, a choral room, outdoor prayer and gathering areas, and improved parking. Thanks to the prayers and dedication of the generous parishioners and benefactors as the parish begins the construction phase of its expansion project.
