Fridays consist of wearing jeans and a pink shirt for a two dollar donation, though most students would pay a considerable amount more to be out of uniform for a day, and the campus is covered with pink posters honoring the survivors, fighters, and loved ones lost to this terrible disease.

On October 3rd, the annual pink breakfast to raise money was a success, with the majority of the school coming out and getting some delicious pancakes for the cause. All this sounds pretty normal, right? A pancake breakfast has been done before to raise money.

Here is where ND breaks the mold. Not only did many come and pay for their pancakes, but there were a number of donations as well. Multiple people said “keep the change” when paying for breakfast, and others who weren’t even eating stopped by ASB’s table to give what they could. This is why it’s good to be a Titan. The cliche selfish teenager stereotype does not apply here. The level of service and compassion that is demonstrated on campus every day is inspiring and creates an environment unparalleled.
