“They will leave stronger in their faith,” said Jorge Galvez, Coordinator of Hispanic Youth Ministry. “By visiting these places their spirituality will be strengthened and they will be able to connect with other coordinators and network.”
The Ministry with Youth Office hopes this pilgrimage will also serve as an opportunity for the coordinators to interact with each other and the office.
During their stay in Mexico they will first visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Basilica of Guadalupe Museum and the Pyramid of the Sun. Pilgrims will be given guided tours of the basilica and museum.
Following the Basilica, they will move on to Guadalajara to visit the chapel and birthplace of St. Toribio Romo. Other destinations the group will visit include Our Lady of San Juan de Los Lagos, the mountain of Cristo Rey and the Callejón del Beso in Guanajuato, Jalisco.
Estimated cost for the trip, including bus, hotel and airfare is $700. At the time of publication 10 spaces were still available. The office has also extended the opportunity to others involved in ministry. For more information, contact the Ministry with Youth Office, (909) 475-5169.
