The veterans each gave a brief synopsis of their military branch and function they served. Together with their prayer partner, class students spent time discussing the sacrifices our soldiers make by protecting our freedoms and then made Christmas cards.

When asked why we made cards for the troops, kindergartener AJ Thornell said, “Because they saved our world.”

Fifth grader Kateri Trimboli expressed her thoughts.

“The soldiers can actually feel being loved and that we see them as heroes,” she said. “They can have God in their lives and take Him into battle.”

Eighth grader David Baltierra said, “It gives them a feeling that we care about them and they are not alone. It shows there is good in the human heart.”

As part of our Mission and Vision, these two events proved rewarding to our students in our pursuit to provide service to others while living out our Gospel values.
