This summer, the diocese will host its third Virtual World Youth Day in solidarity with those pilgrims who will travel to Rio de Janiero, Brazil. The event is a 24-hour fiesta that will take place at Aquinas High School on Saturday, July 27 at 2 pm through Sunday, July 28 at 2 pm. Aquinas is located at 2772 Sterling Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404.

Young people ages 13-18 are invited to come and join the celebration as attendees will listen to the World Youth Day message by Pope Francis. Early registration is $40 per person until July 15, $45 after that date, and $50 at the door. Scholarships are also available.

The event will host approximately 600 youth and offer many activities from music, food, speakers, games, sleeping under the stars, and Eucharistic Liturgy with Bishop Gerald Barnes and Auxiliary Bishop Rutilio del Riego. Some of the event will also be broadcast on live radio with El Sembrador Ministries on 1670 AM.

Youth are encouraged to join in two contests at Virtual World Youth Day. The first is “Diocese Got Talent.” All youth are welcome to bring their unique gifts and talents to help us create a night of entertainment. The first place winner will be awarded a cash prize. The second contest is a “Faith Video Contest.” In collaboration with Wordnet Productions, youth are invited to submit a video highlighting the Year of Faith and the core values of what faith means to them. Winners will also be awarded cash prizes from $75-$200. Please visit our website for more details on the contests and all our events at http://myosbdiocese.wix.com/ministry-with-youth#! or call the Ministry with Youth Office at 909-475-5167/5168.
