The Summit prompted Xavier to “do school differently for a while,” and to create spaces and conversations that helped form students (and teachers) into people of conscience and conviction.

The Summit featured five keynote speakers; with more than 25 breakout sessions for students to sign up for (some led by Xavier teachers and some led by local experts). Even lunch was different. To show solidarity with others, students had a simple meal of rice, beans and tortillas. The reality around the globe is that the majority of students do not attend school the ways Xavier students do.  Their experience of education is very different.  For a week Xavier students attempted to share in that reality both intellectually and experientially.
