Notre Dame student receives Knights of Peter Claver Scholarship

On Nov 19, 2023, Riverside Notre Dame High School announced that sophomore Kaden Tennyson received an award for excellent scholastic achievement presented by the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary. “This scholarship will always be a reminder of what I can achieve if I keep pushing myself to go the distance,” Tennyson said. The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary is part of The Knights of Peter Claver, Inc., founded in 1909 as the nation’s only African American Catholic fraternal organization, which fights for social justice issues. “It felt gratifying that others looked at my story and were proud of what they saw and helped strengthen my inner confidence,” Tennyson said.
