Bishop Alberto Rojas has announced this year’s class of Bishop’s Scholars, giving four eighth grade students an opportunity to attend Catholic high school. Each will receive a four year scholarship to one of the Diocese’s four Catholic high schools.

Rudeejoi Deguia from Resurrection Academy, Fontana, will be attending Aquinas High School, San Bernardino; Manuel Antonio Juarez from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Riverside, will be attending Notre Dame High School, Riverside; Viviana Terriquez Villaseñor from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Indio, will be attending Xavier College Preparatory, Palm Desert; and Malia Lewis from St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School, Temecula, will be attending St. Jeanne de Lestonnac High School, Temecula.

Applicants are asked to describe and discuss their commitment to God, faith, education, family, community and volunteerism and explain why they wish to attend the particular high school they have chosen.

In addition to letters of recommendation, certificates of achievement and awards, applicants submit a personal essay.
