The “Seminarians and Young Catholics Gathering” will be held on Saturday, October 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Junipero Serra House of Formation in Grand Terrace.  During this celebration, the young people will be able to spend time with Bishop Barnes and share with him how they live out his episcopal motto, “Amar es Entregarse - Love is the total giving of oneself.”

Youth and young adults who attend will also have an opportunity to reflect on their vocation and dialogue with Diocesan seminarians at Serra House. Bishop Barnes will share his vocation story with the young people.

The day will be full of music, prayer, fellowship, and will feature a Gallery Exhibit.

Each parish or Diocesan ministry will be invited to showcase in the Gallery Exhibit a collage, a poem, a song, a painting or other artistic expression of how they are living out “Amar es Entregarse.” Throughout the day, Bishop Barnes will be walking through the exhibits and visiting each ministry. Guidelines for those wishing to submit an exhibit are as follows:

The artwork can be a painting, collage, a poem, a poster, a song, and should include a small description of the art piece.

Each ministry must bring their own easel and/or materials needed to display their piece. Nothing can be nailed to the walls but command strips will be allowed for hanging an exhibit piece.

Tables, projectors, or screens will not be available so the exhibit piece must be able to stand on its own.

All exhibit pieces will be hanging in a hallway so that Bishop Barnes can walk through and see the ministries’ artwork.

Two people can accompany an exhibit to share and elaborate on the art piece. It can be different people throughout the day.

The theme is “Gallery Exhibit” so, be creative with your art piece and share with Bishop Barnes!
