It’s dark, yet spectacular. The songs of birds in the lingering morning sky ring in my ears. The trees silent wave in the breeze adds motion to the start of a busy day. The hum of rushing cars on the nearby highway can be heard from my window, and as I look down into my backyard, I see the slight rattling of bushes from critters too awakening. I am awakened to the beauty of nature.

As I walk downstairs, I hear the soft footsteps of others in my family gearing up for their day. My baby sister whimpering for milk and the loving hushes to her to keep quiet. A single ray of sunlight shines through the window in the kitchen and gives life to the room as I walk in giving me a sense of security. The ray illuminating the downstairs casts shadows against the walls as it hits the furniture. A spectrum of colors appears on the floor next to my feet from the glass. The brilliance of the early morning indicates that it is going to be an amazing day.

The moment I walk out my front door, my eyelashes are chilled. As I breathe in the crisp mountain air, I am refreshed. A hummingbird whizzes past me and flutters with gorgeous colors. As I chase the compelling creature through the grass, dew seeps from the grass through my shoe and to my foot instantly chilling my whole body, leaving my foot freezing for a split second.

When I look up again, I see a great amount of sunlight on the street and look up to the sky remembering how that ray in my kitchen had become a beam pushing through the clouds. A smile is brought to my face for having a multitude of encounters with the magnificence of nature. From that moment forward, I was connected to life in a new way due to my adventure with the earliness of day.
