Sacred Heart Parish in Rancho Cucamonga and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Community in San Bernardino have both received good news in the form of grants from Oregon Catholic Press (OCP). OCP’s Grant Program offers direct financial aid to parishes in need for the purpose of enhancing the worship experience of that community.

SAN JACINTO—With a crowd too large to fit in the parish’s worship space, St. Anthony, San Jacinto held its 125th anniversary Mass in the field outside of the church on June 13.
More than 800 came to celebrate the parish’s anniversary. See Heritage Road for the history of St. Anthony Parish.
“For the past 125 years there have been many people, priests and religious who worked hard for this parish,” said Father Cristobal Subosa, Pastor of St. Anthony. “They walked the journey of faith and now we are here to celebrate. We are very honored and blessed.”
PALM DESERT—When a 15-year-old parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert took his own life last summer, Father Howard Lincoln decided his parish needed to make a bold statement about the terrible tragedy of teen suicide.
LAKE ARROWHEAD—On October 8, Auxiliary Bishop Rutilio del Riego will rededicate the Our Pilgrim Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lake Arrowhead.
Mountain residents, after having been personally affected by the World Wars, commissioned sculptor José Ferreira Thedim to design and sculpt the shrine.
Thedim, an eye witness to the Fatima miracle, sketched the replicate grotto and placement of the figures of the Shrine.

NORCO—When Christina Daniels heard her parish was looking for new ways of raising funds, she thought a Vendor Fair might be just the thing.
Starting in March, St. Mel Parish, Norco began holding a monthly vendor fair on the second Sunday of the month from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The first event drew large crowds throughout the day. Subsequent fairs have brought similar crowds. What began as a fundraising event has turned out to be a social gathering for parishioners.
