St. Christopher Parish, Moreno Valley celebrated its Second Annual Blessing of the Cars event on Sept. 16. Father Christopher Navarro, M.S., parochial vicar of the parish, blessed all the cars and motorcycles with Holy Water. Other festivities included music, food, raffles, entertainment and prizes.

“Knights of Columbus, in conjunction with Knights on Bikes (KoB), from St. Christopher’s and St. Andrew Newman Center, created this event for the public in order to reunite Catholics back to our Church and welcome new neighbors from our community to join us and maybe evangelize a few new Catholics,” said Knight of Columbus Jim Velarde, one of the event’s organizers.

The cars included the parishioners’ vintage, new and everyday cars for the blessing. The event took place from 10 am to 6 pm and was filled with family, community, and joy.
“I feel that sometimes we need to show our community that we share the same family values and like to have a little fun now and then,” Velarde said.
