Festival of Cultures event continues Bishop’s 25th anniversary celebrations

ONTARIO—Diversity is an integral part of who we are in the Diocese of San Bernardino. We identified “Unity in Diversity” as a key focus area during the Diocesan Visioning Process in the 1990s.

In tribute of this value and continuing our recognition of Bishop Gerald Barnes’ 25th year of Episcopal Ordination we would like to invite you to join us on November 4  for the Festival of Cultures, where the spirit of thanksgiving will overflow as we celebrate.

We will be hosting this great gathering of cultures at St. George Catholic Church in Ontario to celebrate Bishop Barnes’ model of generosity, openness, support and love of the diverse cultures that enrich the Diocese of San Bernardino.

As cultural diversity continues to define the communities of the Riverside and San Bernardino counties, Bishop Barnes’ commitment to serve, welcome, and be present to all people has grown. His passion to spread the love of Jesus Christ to all ethnic groups has highlighted his pastoral journey in our Diocese and invites us to be proud of who we are and celebrate our diversity and the unique gifts that are contributed by all.

The Festival of Cultures will take place on Saturday, November 4th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church, 505 N. Palm Ave, Ontario, CA. The event is free and all are welcome. We invite you to participate in a unique way by wearing your ethnic attire at this event.
