So if I am Catholic and I am going through a difficult time with my wife or husband, or with my children, I need to say to myself, “I have to work on this.” Or if I am someone who has drifted away from the Church I need to ask myself, “where am I going?” Or if I am a priest, I need to know that Pope Francis is calling me to go beyond my own interest and my own comfort. It’s not enough to wait for the people to come.
Pope Francis affirmed us as bishops but he said, ‘don’t be satisfied with being good administrators, be good pastors.’
We all need to ask ourselves—how can we go beyond?
The mission is outside, not inside.
