We pray for the eternal rest of John Verweil, a good and faithful servant of our local Church, who passed away on Feb. 4. John donated his extraordinary woodworking talent, creating beautiful altar furniture for many of our recently built parish churches including St. James the Less, Perris (pictured), Our Lady of Soledad, Coachella, St. Frances of Rome, Wildomar, St. Catherine of Alexandria, Riverside, Queen of Angels, Riverside, and St. Joseph, Fontana. He also made the furniture for the chapel at the home of Bishop Alberto Rojas as well as the chapel at the retired priests complex on Barton Road in Loma Linda. John Verweil’s Mass of Resurrection was February 15 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Riverside, where he was a long-time parishioner.
