   On completion of his studies, Fr. Devine was ordained priest for the Diocese of San Diego on May 27, 1965 by Most Rev. Francis J. Furey at St. Joseph Cathedral.

   After ordination, he served in parishes in San Diego, 1965-70, after which time he did graduate studies in Loyola University, Los Angeles graduating in 1973 with an MA in Educational Administration.

   Recognized for his interest and talent in the Field of Education, he was assigned to teaching positions at Aquinas High School, San Bernardino and Notre Dame High School, Riverside. From 1973 to 1980 he was principal of Aquinas High School where he was highly regarded in the school community.

   After retiring from school administration, then incardinated into the newly established Diocese of San Bernardino, Fr. Devine availed himself of ongoing education at the Vatican II Institute in Santa Barbara.

   He was interim Director of Planned Giving, served short term in St. Louis, Cathedral City, and in Queen of Angels, Sacred Heart Mission Anza, Idyllwild.

   From 1985-97 he served as pastor of St. Anthony, San Jacinto, and 1997-2001 at Queen of Angels, Idyllwild. He retired from active ministry in 2001 but was eager to supply as needed in the Hemet Vicarlate especially with the St. Mother Teresa of

Calcutta Church Community, where he was greatly appreciated and cared for as his health declined.

   Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church, 34750 Whisper Heights, Winchester, CA 92596. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, 3520 East Washington Street, Colton.
