 As a Vietnam native, he survived the fall of Saigon, escaping Communist Vietnam in 1982 and surviving in a refugee camp in Indonesia.

 He emigrated to the United States and settled in Virginia with his parents and siblings.

 He served as a SVD priest in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 1996 to 2000. He was assigned by his order to the Diocese of San Bernardino in July 2000 when he served as parochial vicar of St. Anne, San Bernardino.

 On July 1, 2004 he was assigned half-time to Sr. Anne as Chaplain for the Vietnamese Community and half-time as Priest Minister to Our Lady of Fatima and Christ the King parishes in San Bernardino.

 The following year he was assigned as Priest Minister of Christ the King, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Anne parishes when a pastoral coordinator was appointed for all three parishes.

 He became the Priest Minister for the newly established Our Lady of Hope parish, San Bernardino on July 1, 2006.

 In July 2008, he was appointed as Administrator of St. Joseph parish, Fontana where he served until he started Canon Law studies at the Catholic University of America in 2001, receiving his Licentiate in Canon Law Degree in June 2014.

 He was incardinated as a priest of the Diocese of San Bernardino on September 8, 2007.

 He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Le Van Tran, seven brothers, one sister and several nieces and nephews.

 Services were held in his parent’s home town of Sterling, Virginia.
