Summer program introduces students to Latin American artists
SAN BERNARDINO—Holy Rosary Academy’s Summer Full Immersion Program is a great opportunity for third graders to practice third grade skills in Spanish. Students have had fun reading, writing and practicing math in Spanish. They have experienced walks, cooking lessons and Spanish movie time in addition to their academic lessons.
Notre Dame community unites amid suffering, loss

RIVERSIDE—On April 25 tragedy struck the Notre Dame High School community.
David Rivas, Jr. was taken from his family and friends in a devastating car crash. There was also a passenger in the car named Jorge Talavera. They were childhood friends. Rivas was killed on impact and Talavera sustained serious injuries, but survived.
Several Catholic schools welcome new principals
Five Diocesan Catholic schools will receive new principals at the start of the 2015-16 school year. Bishop Gerald Barnes and Catholic Schools Superintendent Patricia Vesely ask for the prayers of all as these five individuals begin this ministry in Catholic education.

Two longtime principals retiring from ministry
St. Margaret Mary School Principal Joan Blank has been a mainstay in serving as a voice of the West End cluster of Catholic schools for over 20 years.
St. Peter and St. Paul School Principal Patty Ferrer was an institution at the school, and that was before it expanded from a pre-school to a K-5 school.
Both will be retiring after decades at the helm of the Chino and Alta Loma campuses.
