 When school is out and parish faith formation programs pause for the summer break, what is a child to do? 

 Parishes throughout the Diocese answer that question by organizing Vacation Bible School. 

 St. Joseph Parish, Fontana has been organizing Vacation Bible School for 15 years. Hope Baluyot, coordinator of Vacation Bible School at St. Joseph, first brought the summer program to the parish as a way of providing a positive summer activity for her children.

SAN BERNARDINO—Holy Rosary Academy’s Summer Full Immersion Program is a great opportunity for third graders to practice third grade skills in Spanish. Students have had fun reading, writing and practicing math in Spanish. They have experienced walks, cooking lessons and Spanish movie time in addition to their academic lessons.

Notre Dame High School seniors

RIVERSIDE—On April 25 tragedy struck the Notre Dame High School community. 

 David Rivas, Jr. was taken from his family and friends in a devastating car crash. There was also a passenger in the car named Jorge Talavera. They were childhood friends. Rivas was killed on impact and Talavera sustained serious injuries, but survived.
