As usual, during these four weeks, students were asked to fill up their donation boxes with loose coins to contribute to their class donations.  In addition, the Student Council planned special dress up days where students are charged one dollar if they participate.  This year, they were allowed to wear baseball caps and jerseys, crazy socks and bracelets, and purchase ice-cream floats.

The Council thought a fun way to end the campaign this year would be to duct tape the principal to the wall and, of course, she was up for the challenge.  Students were able to buy strips of duct tape for one dollar donations to Pennies for Patients.  Well, students did not just purchase one piece of tape they purchased several that enabled the student council to REALLY stick Mrs. Lara to the wall. She looked like a caterpillar in a cocoon.  We are happy to report that St. James Catholic School raised about $1,500 during this campaign to help families with children suffering with cancer.
