Together with the community, the Diocesan Ministry to Catholics of African Descent held a special Mass and reception in honor of Bishop Gerald Barnes' 25th Episcopal Anniversary on Sept. 17th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Ontario. As part of the festivities, the Igbo (Ibo) community conferred upon Bishop Barnes the title “Nnaora 1 of San Bernardino,” a designation of Chieftaincy in their culture.
